Why Berlin?

Berlin, Connecticut, a community of 20,000 people, is located in the geographic center of Connecticut and is midway between New York City and Boston.  Berlin has achieved a unique balance between commerce and community.

The Town has a rich history of manufacturing, service and retail.  In fact, it has attracted regional and international businesses such as COMCAST, Eversource, Assa Abloy, and Home Depot, but has still retained its New England charm, creating a magnificent quality of life.

Our central location is at the hub of the regional highway network including most major interstates and north/south state highways.  Being in Berlin allows firms to tap into the region’s large pool of educated workers, as well as be able to send goods throughout the United States and beyond.

To continue to recruit and retain valuable firms and employees, Berlin has maintained its sense of community through Town-wide activities like the Berlin Fair, by encouraging civic participation and by offering a wide range of home ownership options.  With the upgrades to a 2nd rail along the New Haven/Springfield Rail Line bringing 15 trips each way in 2018, a trip to New York City or Springfield is just a short train ride away.

Its sense of place is what sets Berlin apart and makes our community a special place to live and a great place to locate a business.

Home of the “Yankee Peddler,” Berlin played a historic role in early European immigration and early industry.  Berlin’s historical section still hosts traditional colonial homes from as early as the 1700s, complete with authentic colors and architecture.
